In stockholm, quite often, the number of each house is shown
on the small lamp in front of the entrance.

I guess it is for short sun light of winter time.
In the end of May, it gets dark 23:00 and it starts getting light at 2:00.
Yes!

Skogskapellet, Skogskyrkogården

Skogskapellet, Skogskyrkogården by Erik Gunnar Asplund

Probably, this is the most beautiful place to sleep after your life.
At the endge of stockholm, there is a huge grave yard designed by Erik Gunnar Asplund.
This is the first 20th censty architectuer, which is authorized as World Heritage Site.

Here people sleeps in the forest.

IMG_0477
There visiter brought potted plant with root, not the bouquet.
(I am not sure it is only in this grave yard or it is in commen in Stockholm.)
So,,,

The new life is growing after the death/ on the death;
the new life which his family or friends brought.

For me, the person with easten mind set about death (and life),
it is very inpressive and emotional.
It is actually, " the life go in cycles ".

And then, after 30 years (or more) of his death, maybe his friend or
family is also passed.

Then the gravestone is also getting back to the natuer.

package of fish

This is a package of seafood in Monoprix, the supper market in France.
In Monoprix, there is a seafood section. There you can choose whatever
you want, as much as you want.

This is not "a supper ecological system" but I quite like this system.
This system try meeting some different kinds of point (value) which
user requests when user buys fish; convinience, economical,
ecological and hygienical.(In a way, this can be called wholistic solution)

Basically, in France, most of the market and Monoprix(supper market),
the fish/other seafood is not packed until each customer buy.
So he can buy as much as he wants.

However, in this way, in the most of market, a vender just put his cutomer's fish
in the practic bag, so sometimes the water/some liquid comes off,
and it messed up other products.

So to prevend this situation, most of customer devides fish and other product
in different plastic bag. So it will request another plastic bag.
And eventhough, some times still it creats water and smell problem.

However, with this packaging system, we can find some solution for this.

Basically, this packaging is working with this machine and two layers of foil.
A vender puts the foil in this hot press mashine and makse a bag as big as he need,
and put the fish and presses it with machine agein.

As I said before, this is not at all "a supper ecological system".
It creates some package wastes and the material seems to be difficult to recycle.
Yet, at least it will reduce the number of waste and even the client,
who has no interest in ecological issue, is been willing to shop with it.

Fete du Travail

[le petit bouquet de muguet]

Now, 01/05 is a world well known holiday for Workers,

Today, my flatmate gave me a petit bouquet de muguet,
as a gift of 1st of May, wishing my luck of this year.
That's very sweet.

Thanks to wikipedia, I could know the the origin of this gift.

In france, the begining of 20 centry, giving a branch of the flower
(a lily of the velly), the symbol of spring of ile-de-France,
at 1st of May became a custom.
One tolerant financial administration permited individuals or
organiations to sell the branch of the flower without tax.

chain in the metro

In Milan, in the metro, there is a chain like this.
Why? Who's for?

The answer is that this is for dog.

For me this is quite interesting because, in Japan
we can not bring a big dog in the metro, except a guide dog.

who's print is this?

"who's print is this?"

"the footsteps of bikes!"

Concrete is not perfect material, from the point of view of global warming.
But not only for this reason, but also because of natuer of city Milan,
concrete seems to be unsuitable material to cover the city.

Itamao told me that, because of heat in summer, the surfaces of loads
get softer and the bikes on the load creat these prints(patterns).

There is no universal material for urban desing as well as strategy.
We know we have to think about context when we think about strategy
of urban design, however do we think about context when we choose
the material to realize that concept or strategy.

ad clock in Milan

It is said that Italian people, not only Italian but most of latin people,
are quite loose towards time.

However, in Milan, there are full of Ad clock.
You can find at each conner of the city, almost.

Is this advertisement efficient?(they really look at the time?)

One said, "Yes, it is effective, italians look at how much they are late."
